Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Project Manager in Philadelphia to lead complex, large-scale projects from concept to completion within our Commercial Retail & Hospitality Design Studio. You will manage scope, schedule, quality, and budget while mentoring other Project Managers.

Requirements include a architecture degree, 12+ years experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Enscape. Occasional travel and strong client-facing skills are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent experience to maintain licensed architect status.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit; ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs.
  • Ability to navigate SketchUp and Enscape.
  • Previous business development and project management experience preferred in planning and executing design/construction projects.
  • Ability to work with managers, leadership, clients, in-house and outside consultants.
  • Client facing experience.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for job-related communications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare effective work plans and labor budgets for approval by Department Manager.
  • Monitor time schedules and capital cost budgets on projects to satisfy the client and control productivity.
  • Identify the project team, work packages and tasks, evaluation methods, productivity targets, schedule of deliverables and labor hours.
  • Responsible for the quality control/quality assurance process on all assigned projects.
  • Oversee the work and productivity on assigned projects.
  • Negotiate with clients on scope changes relative to budgets and schedules with supervisor approval.
  • Review monthly labor and cost reports to ensure projects meet profit goals.
  • Ensure everyone involved works according to project planning and profit control procedures.
  • Ensure budgets affecting the project schedule and/or fee budget are discussed with the client.
  • Mentor junior staff in technical and business practices and corporate objectives.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program and all SOPs.
  • Review time sheets of direct reports during reporting period.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance per policy.
  • May oversee activities of assigned staff including timesheet review and performance evaluation.

In this leadership role, you’ll guide complex, large-scale projects from concept through completion, overseeing scope, schedule, quality, and budget while mentoring and directing a team of talented professionals—including other Project Managers. You’ll play a key role in ensuring project success while helping the department, division, and company achieve financial and strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Review monthly labor and cost reports to ensure projects are being completed at the predetermined profit goal.
  • Ensure everyone involved is working in accordance with all project planning and profit control procedures.
  • Ensure that all budgets affecting the project schedule and/or fee budget are discussed with the client.
  • Solicit help and involvement from Department Managers and any other managers to troubleshoot any technical problems.
  • Mentor junior staff in learning sound technical and business practices and enhancing corporate objectives.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
  • Review time sheets of direct reports during a specified reporting period.
  • Evaluate Employee Performance in accordance with company policy.
  • May oversee the activities of assigned staff, including but not limited to timesheet review and approval, performance evaluation and daily supervision.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Architecture or equivalent work experience as required to maintain licensed architect status.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience.
  • Previous use and understanding of AutoCAD and Revit design software with the ability to produce preliminary and schematic designs in AutoCAD at a minimum, but Revit is desired.
  • Ability to navigate SketchUp and Enscape.
  • Previous business development and project management experience preferred in planning and executing design/construction projects.
  • Ability to work in close collaboration with other managers and leadership, clients, in-house and outside consultants.
  • Client facing experience.
  • Ability to work primarily independently.
  • Willing to travel occasionally to client sites and meetings.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
