Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Gainesville, FL is seeking a Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder to expand our Land Development practice. You will lead a Land Development team, build key client relationships, and guide project strategy with autonomy and accountability.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years of land development leadership, a P.E. license, strong AutoCAD Civil3D skills, and proven business development, budgeting and mentoring capabilities.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience managing land development projects.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.).
  • Extensive client contacts with architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners, or landowners.
  • Strong AutoCAD Civil3D skills.
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting.
  • Ability to communicate positively at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to mentor staff and direct resources effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably.

Overview

Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Project Manager, Practice Builder to expand our Land Development practice in Gainesville, Florida!

Responsibilities
  • The qualified individual will lead a Land Development team while building and managing relationships with key clients
  • Leadership responsibilities include:
  • Operating with integrity and sound business principals
  • Providing vision, business planning and strategy
  • Establishing goals
  • Building and maintaining positive client relationships
  • Having open communication with your partners and team
  • Growing and leading a land development practice
  • Our Project Managers/Practice Builders manage their projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, and act as a positive leader and mentor
  • The successful candidate will be given a great deal of autonomy to lead, direct, and grow their business
  • With success, this individual will enjoy the rewards of an impressive bonus program with the potential to advance to ownership
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience managing land development projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license
  • Extensive client contacts and relationships with local architects, developers, land use attorneys, planners and/or land owners
  • Strong technical skills with AutoCAD Civil3D
  • Business development and marketing experience including writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgeting for projected work
  • Ability to effectively communicate positively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner
  • Demonstrated ability to manage land development projects profitably
