Job summary

MasTec Utility Services is seeking a Project Manager II to lead power construction projects in our transmission and distribution portfolios. You will coordinate with construction teams, procurement, finance, and clients to ensure scope, budget, and schedule compliance from proposal to closeout.

The role emphasizes data-driven decision making, risk mitigation, and strong communication to align stakeholders and deliver safe, compliant projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years in project management for transmission, substation, distribution, or data center utility projects
• Leads medium to large projects with moderate complexity
• Strong proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
• PMP, CCM, PE, or similar credentials preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related field
• Experience managing power construction projects preferred

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects from proposal stage through initiation, execution, and closeout
• Manage day-to-day construction activities with budgeting, scheduling, and progress tracking using KPIs
• Develop and implement project work plans with defined scope and objectives
• Manage project schedules in Primavera
• Monitor procurement of materials, equipment, and labor
• Lead weekly meetings on manpower and equipment needs
• Manage contract execution and change orders
• Document and analyze project risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Resolve conflicts and escalate issues as needed
• Prepare and submit weekly/monthly progress reports and cash flow projections
• Provide regular updates to senior management on project performance and financials
• Attend site visits, field walk-downs, and client meetings
