Nature of Work
Overall responsibility for project management. Manage staff, contract documents, subcontractor performance, vendor compliance, budgets, costs, safety, profitability, and statutory and legal compliance. Maintain constructive relationships and communicate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, and company staff.
Responsible for the overall management and successful execution of utility‑scale power generation projects. Lead project teams while overseeing contract administration, subcontractor performance, vendor compliance, project budgets, cost control, safety, profitability, and statutory and regulatory compliance. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, inspectors, community officials, and internal stakeholders. Lead the planning and execution of projects including simple‑cycle combustion turbines, reciprocating engine facilities, balance‑of‑plant systems, brownfield plant modifications, and related infrastructure. Accountable for project delivery from preconstruction through commissioning and closeout.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Conduct pre‑construction reviews including estimate review and contract documents. Develop purchasing strategies, project flow charts and schedules.
- Ensure subcontractors meet expectations of contract documents.
- Direct and supervise the purchase of major equipment.
- Establish and coordinate overall project schedule.
- Ensure labor, material, subcontractors, and equipment cost control for all projects.
- Provide any required project billings.
- Ensure accurate completion and updating of all required project reports.
- Maintain client relationships and assist in development of new business.
- Ensure projects are completed per contract documents and schedule.
- Assume responsibility for providing a safe work environment, as well as complying with all statutory & regulatory requirement.
- Responsibility for multiple substantial projects.
- Conduct actions in a professional and unbiased manner.
- Comply with all company and site policies and best practice standards.
- Continuously develop proficiency and understanding in the role.

- Exercise initiative or, as directed, perform additional duties to meet the needs of the organization.
Financial Management
- Develop, manage, and oversee key financial components (e.g., financial plans, budgets, forecasts) for assigned scope of responsibility to minimize risk and variance, and to maximize contributions to company revenue and margin.
- Review and assess financial data, reports and records. Ensure employee compliance with related procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations.
- Create and communicate financial targets and goals in order to accomplish broader financial objectives.
- Proactively monitor and interpret ongoing financial performance and respond appropriately. Assess and mitigate financial risks.
- Develop business plans and make operational decisions in light of broader financial goals and constraints.
Managing Others
- Inspire a sense of team in the work environment. Utilize communication and conflict resolution skills to foster teamwork and collaboration. Model a positive and professional attitude, maintaining composure under pressure.

- Provide feedback and coaching to support individual employee performance, learning and career development.
- Remove obstacles and solve problems and address escalated issues from team members to optimize team performance and productivity.
- Serve as a change agent by supporting corporate and work program change initiatives. Model and communicate positive approaches to adapting to change.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of utility power generation or heavy industrial construction experience.
- Experience managing new generation projects including combustion turbines, reciprocating engine facilities, combined heat and power, or balance‑of‑plant construction.
- Experience executing outages, maintenance, capital improvements, or life‑extension projects at coal‑fired generating stations.
- Working knowledge of boiler systems, pressure parts, steam cycle equipment, feedwater systems, air quality control systems, and associated plant infrastructure.
- Experience with turbine‑generator installations, piping systems, structural steel, electrical systems, controls, commissioning, and startup.
- Experience managing EPC, Design‑Build, EPCM, or Target Price projects.
- Self‑perform construction experience strongly preferred.
- PMP / PE certification preferred.

Education
- Bachelor's degree from 4‑year college/university or equivalent experience.
Experience
- 5+ years of related work experience preferred.
- Other technical experience such as military, public service, on‑the‑job training programs, etc. may meet this requirement as determined by local management.
Physical Demands and Working Environment
- May require periods of overnight travel.
- Normal office environment.
- Periods of time walking on construction sites.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent activity: sitting, viewing, and typing on computer screen.
- Occasional activity: standing, walking, bending, reaching above shoulder, climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
- At times will be required to use a ladder and work at tall heights (i.e., roof top, access ladders, scissor‑lift, scaffolding).
- Safety‑sensitive position that requires extreme focus and attention to safety hazards and safety protocols.
