Job summary

Fehr Graham, a fast-growing Midwest engineering and environmental firm, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to guide municipal and environmental projects from proposal through closeout. Based in Schaumburg, IL, you’ll serve as the primary client contact, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high-quality results.

You’ll lead project teams including staff and subconsultants, manage communications, prepare proposals and contracts, and support business development while upholding our core values

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5–7 years in municipal project management.
• Experience in the consulting industry.
• PM certification (PMP).
• Professional license in your discipline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid analytical and organizational abilities.
• Team player with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Oversee projects to ensure successful outcomes.
• Coordinate projects and resolve scheduling, staffing, or quality issues.
• Lead project teams including staff and subconsultants to deliver results.
• Invoice clients, explain billed items and follow up on accounts.
• Maintain client confidentiality and follow company standards for documentation.
• Perform root cause analysis for project write-offs and ensure QC for assigned projects.
• Communicate technical concepts to clients and team members.
• Prioritize tasks and meet tight deadlines.
• Work across multiple disciplines to cross-market services.

What you’ll do

As a Senior Project Manager, you’ll be the go-to contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met with precision and professionalism. You’ll cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients and prepare and deliver proposals, contracts and presentations. You’ll also:

• Oversee projects so they are successful.

• Lead project teams, including staff and subconsultants, to deliver results.

• Perform Root Cause Analysis for project write-offs and ensure quality control for assigned projects.

• Work across multiple disciplines to cross-market services.

What it takes

Ideally, you’ll have a bachelor’s degree with five to seven years of experience in municipal project management. Ideally, you will also:

• Have experience in the consulting industry.
• Be certified in Project Management.
• Hold a professional license in your respective discipline.
• Speak and write well.
• Have strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Be a team player.
