Job summary

Miller’s is seeking a Project Manager for our Michigan-based manufacturing/construction operations. You will lead turnkey projects, coordinate with engineering, production and sales, and ensure on-time delivery and budget control.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, six years PM experience, and strong communication; ERP familiarity (Global Shop Solutions) is a plus. Reading blueprints is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Project Management.
• PMI certification preferred.
• At least six years of project management experience in manufacturing or construction.
• Experience managing multiple construction projects concurrently.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
• Hands-on experience with fabrication processes and oversight.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned customers, serving as their primary point of contact throughout each project.
• Plan, execute, monitor, and complete turnkey projects while coordinating with Miller’s management, engineering, production, and sales teams.
• Develop and manage project schedules, track progress, and address potential delays or other issues.
• Create and manage project budgets, monitor costs, and participate in cost reviews and reduction efforts.
• Request, evaluate, and select subcontractor quotes.
• Review bid documents with the estimating team to help ensure quotes are accurate and submitted on time.
• Prepare material takeoffs and cost estimates for new opportunities and project change orders.
• Manage changes in project scope, identify risks, and develop contingency plans.
• Work with manufacturing to ensure products meet customer specifications and delivery commitments.
• Prepare and present project updates, proposals, requirements documents, and progress reports.
• Read and interpret blueprints and contract drawings, applying knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and management to estimate costs for non-core opportunities.
