Job description

The Senior Project Manager is accountable for customer satisfaction, financial performance, vendor management, scope execution, resource alignment, and operational excellence across assigned regions, customers, or programs.

Unlike a Project Manager who owns individual projects, the Senior Project Manager owns customer relationships, execution strategy, contractor performance, and portfolio-level outcomes while mentoring Project Managers and influencing business decisions across the organization.

  • Maintain prevailing wage compliance and certified payroll governance.
  • Ensure audit readiness across all projects.
  • Drive quality improvements and reduction of repeat failures.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action planning for major events.
Customer Ownership & Strategic Account Management
  • Serve as the primary operational point of contact for assigned customer portfolios.
  • Build and maintain executive-level customer relationships.
  • Lead recurring business reviews, project reviews, and corrective action discussions.

  • Drive customer satisfaction, retention, and growth opportunities.
Portfolio & Scope Ownership
  • Own execution strategy and financial performance across one or more major corrective workstreams including: Major Component Upgrades (MCU), Gearbox exchanges, Main bearing exchanges, Generator replacements, Hub replacements, Drivetrain campaigns, & Large corrective maintenance campaigns
  • Blade Services Including: Structural blade repairs, Blade bushing campaigns, Blade replacements, Composite corrective actions, Fleet-wide reliability campaigns, & Transactional Major Correctives work
  • Own the end-to-end delivery of contracted major corrective work - working with the commercial sales team from bid to closeout of project act as the primary technical and operational owner to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the customer's satisfaction.
Financial Ownership
  • Manage project and portfolio budgets.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Lead change order development and recovery efforts.
  • Support pricing strategies and scope development activities.
  • Drive working capital improvement through timely invoicing and project closeout.
Vendor & Contractor Management
  • Serve as the operational owner for strategic contractor and vendor relationships.
  • Evaluate contractor performance against safety, quality, productivity, and cost expectations.
  • Lead vendor scorecard reviews and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Develop execution strategies utilizing internal and external resources.
  • Support contractor sourcing and capacity planning activities.
Operational Leadership
  • Lead execution reviews across active projects and campaigns.
  • Partner with scheduling teams to optimize resource utilization.
  • Identify execution bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
  • Support workforce planning and deployment decisions.
  • Drive standardization and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Lead lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.
  • Provide coaching on customer management, financial ownership, and execution leadership.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management activities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications

  • Strong financial acumen including forecasting, budgeting, margin management, and change order recovery.
  • Knowledge of crane operations, lift planning, logistics coordination, and field execution.
  • Experience operating within prevailing wage environments.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • PMP certification.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience managing Liftra operations.
  • Experience leading catastrophic response programs.
  • Experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy fleets.
  • Multi-site portfolio management experience.
  • Experience leading customer business reviews and contract execution discussions.
