Job summary

McClelland Consulting Engineers (MCE), an ESP Company, is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to serve as a primary contact for project issues and act as the project representative. You will design land development sites, monitor progress, and contribute to budgeting and strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include creating site development drawings with AutoCAD Civil 3D, coordinating with teams, and ensuring compliance with codes and regulations. Travel is usually short day trips.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture is required.
  • 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager.
  • Understanding of land development processes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and show initiative.
  • Strong problem solving, time management, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate a wide variety of projects.
  • Resolve escalated issues with cross-department coordination.
  • Maintain progress and manage costs to reduce risks and maximize benefits.
  • Develop construction documents for site development with AutoCAD Civil 3D (site plan, grading and drainage, etc.).
  • Coordinate with project team to complete projects on time and on budget.
  • Complete plan review comments from internal QA/QC and agency reviews.
  • Prepare communications, applications, and reports.
  • Review codes to ensure project compliance with municipal/state/federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to identify development opportunities and support municipal meetings and submittals.
  • Prepare for, attend, and lead meetings with clients.

Summary

Sr. Project Managers are first point of contact for any issues or discrepancies arising from within the heads of various departments in an organization before the problem escalates to higher authorities, as project representative.

Sr. Project Manager designs construction projects dealing with Land Development projects such as site design for new buildings, recreational facilities, trails, drainage, and other site related projects. In addition, the Sr. Project Manager monitors progress and performance against the project plan. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.

Responsibilities

  • Planning, development, implementation, and evaluation with the management of a wide variety of projects
  • Resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments
  • Maintain the progress, mutual interaction, and tasks of various parties in such a way that reduces the risk of overall failure, maximizes benefits, and minimizes costs.
  • Develop construction documents for site development projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Construction documents sets include site plan, grading and drainage, utility, erosion control, plan sheets and applicable details
  • Coordinate with the project team to develop and complete projects on time and on budget
  • Complete plan review comments from internal quality control process and from the agency review process
  • Prepare written communications, applications, and reports
  • Review and implement municipal zoning ordinances, geotechnical reports, as well as state and federal codes to ensure project compliance
  • Work in partnership with engineering staff to identify opportunities and constraints for development sites, assist in municipal meetings and submittals, and complete plan revisions as needed to obtain project approval
  • Preparing for, attending and leading meetings with internal and external clients

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Landscape Architecture
  • Professional Engineer or Professional Landscape Architect license in the State of Arkansas
  • 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager
  • Through understanding of land development processes
  • Knowledge of regulations, policies, and procedures

  • Candidates must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company’s driving (MVR) policy.

Travel

  • Most travel is limited to short or day trips to visit jobsites, meet clients, etc. Overnight trips are generally not required.
