Senior Project Manager

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Job Summary

You will oversee all phases of construction projects from preconstruction through closeout while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction. This role requires strong leadership, budget management, and stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Motivate and lead effective teams, providing oversight and direction for project teams.
  • Lead in Knutson’s Zero Incident safety culture, driving compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage relationships with owners, design teams, subcontractors, and Knutson employees.
  • Oversee pre‑construction, construction, commissioning, and closeout phases of projects.
  • Develop and implement construction schedules with the entire project team.
  • Collaborate with estimating and marketing during preconstruction and pursuit stages.
  • Administer cost management and track project budgets.
  • Report monthly project team meeting accuracy to management.
  • Schedule and conduct internal and external project meetings.
  • Oversee procurement processes within the project team.
  • Lead and manage project‑specific QA/QC plans.
  • Lead pursuit of projects with pursuit and Business Development teams.
  • Grow and utilize professional networks.
  • Participate in community and industry events to build networks and promote Knutson Construction.
  • Manage self‑perform trades like demolition, carpentry, concrete, and masonry scopes.
  • Review operations employees’ performance and collaborate with senior management on staffing needs.
  • Provide constructive feedback to operations team members on assigned projects.
  • Lead projects that deliver “The Knutson Experience” while complying with standard operating procedures.
  • Complete scheduled and as‑needed safety training.

Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10 to 15 years of responsibility for executing large healthcare construction projects.
  • Experience managing and collaborating with superintendents, project managers, assistant project managers, project engineers, and project support staff.
  • Construction‑related certifications and additional training are highly desirable.
  • Prior experience managing self‑perform trade scopes is highly desirable.
