Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5–10 years residential homebuilding project management experience.
  • 2+ years with City of San Diego Development Services Department preferred.
  • Experience managing direct reports and mentoring.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee feasibility analysis and future project planning.
  • Develop scopes of work for civil, landscape, dry utility, architectural, structural, mechanical, and T-24 plans for rental and for-sale housing in San Diego.
  • Manage 10–15 projects across planning and development stages.
  • Coordinate with internal and external teams to develop the above-mentioned plans.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets from kickoff through 100% CD’s for city plan check.
  • Provide live progress reporting to supervisors and executives with milestone time estimates.
  • Mentor and supervise a Project Coordinator.
  • Support Construction and Purchasing teams with plan status and issues.
  • Respond to RFIs with accurate classification.

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sr. Project Manager to join our team at Infill Innovation, San Diego’s fastest-growing residential real estate developer. The Sr. Project Manager will oversee all aspects of architecture, landscape, and engineering plans for purposes of site analysis and development rights.The Sr. Project Manager will be collaborating extensively with consultants, municipalities, and utility providers.The ideal candidate will have experience in and focus on a high level of execution of developing all necessary plans for rental and for sale residential housing.

Responsibilities
  • Primary Duties will include feasibility analysis and future project planning.
  • Develop scopes of work for all civil, landscape architecture, dry utility, architectural, structural, mechanical, and T-24 plans, and other supporting reports for rental and for sale residential housing projects in San Diego.
  • Effectively manage 10 – 15 projects across in various stages of planning and development. Primary focus will be entitlement packages but may evolve into final engineering.
  • Arrange kick-off meetings with the internal Infill Innovation team and outside consultants chosen by the senior management team to develop the above-mentioned plans.
  • Develop project schedules and budgets for all plan development products from kickoff through 100% CD’s ready to submit to the city for plan check.
  • Actively manage the schedule and budget to ensure we are on track.
  • Coordinate with the Plan to Permit team, as well as the Operations team through the process to ensure all vested team members weigh in and double check for accuracy and adherence to the initial scope and budget.
  • Responsible for updating and managing plan and version control form initial schematic plans through project completion.
  • At completion of permit set, sign off prior to turn over to Plan and Processing Team.At the completion of final build set, sign off prior to turning over to the Operations Team.
  • Provide live, up-to-date reporting on the progress of all projects to supervisors and executives, including time estimates for all major milestones.
  • Manage, coach, and utilize the support of a Project Coordinator
  • Support Construction and Purchasing teams with plan status and issues as needed.
  • Monitor and quickly respond to RFIs with accurate and complete classification.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture and/or Engineering, planning or other related disciplines preferred.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years residential homebuilding project management experience
  • Two or more years of experience working with the City of San Diego Development Services Department strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated management experience with direct reports, including performance coaching and professional development.
  • Serve as a mentor to team members by providing guidance, feedback, and career development support.
  • Foster a collaborative, growth-oriented team environment through regular check-ins and mentorship.
  • Support and develop junior project managers and cross-functional team members.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively under pressure.

Salary Range

$135,000 - $175,000 annually
