Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, Environmental Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Professional Licensure (P.E.) in NC, SC, VA, WV or MD is desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as Sr. Project Manager or Project Technical Lead for Power Sector engineering projects with responsibility for reviewing and sealing of projects.
  • Plan, organize, and manage the production of project deliverables to ensure on time delivery, technical quality and within budget – includes coordinating work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating on multi‑discipline projects.
  • Provide technical leadership for projects in Virginia and occasionally for projects in other parts of the Mid‑Atlantic US, performing a variety of tasks to plan, execute and deliver the project.
  • Work with more junior engineers to perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, design calculations, write engineering reports, and select design criteria.
  • Project management including coordinating work efforts and the preparation of deliverables reports, client stewardship and coordinating with other disciplines on multi‑discipline projects.
  • Execute environmental permitting strategy, developing regulatory strategy, and directing environmental field surveys and construction compliance for a variety of projects.
  • Complete and/or oversee permit application preparation, including gathering supporting documentation, conducting assessments, and coordinating comment response with agencies.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and teams.
  • Support and ensure implementation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work and coordinate with HSSE professionals during the execution of all phases of project planning and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain positive client relationships, including seeking opportunities for new business.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills, and be customer focused to understand and appropriately respond to external and internal client’s business needs.
  • Must demonstrate effective resource planning, results delivery, and staying current with relevant technology and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state regulations and permitting requirements.
  • Proven ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships.
  • Knowledge of documents related to requests for proposals and invitations for bid.
  • Thrives in a team environment, mentor to staff, advisor to clients and management team.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, Environmental Engineering, or other closely related degree required.
  • Minimum of 10 years prior experience in a similar role required.
  • Professional Licensure (P.E.) in NC, SC, VA, WV, MD desirable.

Pay Range

Locations in MN, OH, VT, & Various CA, ME, NY, VA Areas – $107,100.00 – $160,700.00 annually.

Benefits Summary

Regular full‑time and part‑time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law. The benefits information listed above may not apply to union positions because benefits for such positions are governed by applicable collective bargaining agreements.
