Job summary

SSOE Group is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Data Centers) to lead data center and high-performance AI facility projects across all phases, from scope development to commissioning. You will collaborate with in-house engineering and architecture teams to ensure projects meet industry standards in North America, with a focus on high-tech, power-intensive environments.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture or 4 extra years of experience in lieu of a technical degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in Engineering and Construction.
  • Proven experience managing design or construction of greenfield data center projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of contract management, pre-construction, renovations, and construction administration.
  • Experience with multi-discipline teams, remote offices, and complex industrial facilities.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed; valid driver’s license and passport.

Responsibilities

  • Lead multi-discipline projects across all phases, ensuring effective team development and performance.
  • Manage client relationships and serve as primary contact for project delivery.
  • Define project scope, develop work plans, allocate resources, and align capabilities with needs.
  • Execute projects within approved budget, funding, and schedule per the Project Execution Plan.
  • Oversee technical, cost, and schedule performance ensuring quality and contractual compliance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies; inform leadership of issues.
  • Facilitate scope changes with clients and coordinate communications.
  • Coordinate meetings, maintain documentation, and generate client reports.
  • Oversee invoicing, review financials, and support cash flow with accounting.
  • Manage contracts for external consultants and services with procurement support.
  • Mentor project managers and support project audits and corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing marketing materials and pursue new business opportunities.
  • Travel as needed for coordination, training, or client engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Lead multi-discipline projects across all phases, ensuring effective team development, coordination, and performance.

  • Mentor project managers, support project audits, and address feedback and corrective actions.
  • Assist in developing marketing presentations and represent the firm in new business opportunities. Identify new business opportunities. Develop qualification and fee proposals for pursuits.
  • Travel as needed for coordination, training, or client engagement.
Qualifications
Qualifications You’ll Need on Day One:
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline, Construction Management, or Architecture, or additional 4 years of experience in the Engineering or Construction field in lieu of technical degree.
  • At least 10 years of experience as a Project Manager in Engineering and Construction.
  • Proven experience managing the design or construction of greenfield data center projects, preferably within an engineering consulting environment, is required.
  • Advance knowledge of contract management, pre-construction, renovations, demolition, new construction building systems/components and technology, and construction administration.
  • Experience with various disciplines, trades, and systems related to complex industrial facilities, with an emphasis on full project delivery.
  • Experience in the execution of multi-office projects with remote teams.
  • Strong people leadership skills along with a passion for building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles and industry standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities, characterized by a strong customer-centric mindset, a high degree of professional enthusiasm, and a sustained commitment to identifying, cultivating, and advancing new business opportunities.
  • Ability to travel to project locations for short-term visits to client sites.
  • Valid driver’s license and passport for potential project-related international travel.
