Job summary

Sunland Asphalt is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead heavy civil construction projects in Phoenix, AZ. You will oversee earthwork, grading, asphalt paving, site development, and project administration from pre-construction through completion.

The ideal candidate has extensive experience in heavy civil projects, strong leadership, scheduling, and budgeting skills, and a focus on safety and quality. This role requires coordinating with subs, owners, and clients to deliver on-time,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
• Experience with mass grading/earthwork, asphalt paving, site development, underground utilities.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, plans, specs, and estimating.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PM software; ability to read engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple civil grading and asphalt paving projects.
• Oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, execution, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, milestones, and production goals.
• Monitor project costs, labor productivity, and equipment utilization.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain profitability.
• Prepare and manage project budgets and forecasts.
• Track project costs, progress billing, and invoices.
• Coordinate daily activities with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, and owners.
• Ensure grading, paving and utility work meets plans and specs.
• Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Promote repeat business through project execution and communication.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and OSHA regulations.
