Capital One is seeking a Senior Project Manager (Chief of Staff) to lead critical, strategic business initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders to drive direct business impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• 3+ years of Project Management experience.
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification preferred.

• Manage the operational “rhythm of the business” for the tower, including the design, execution, and optimization of leadership meetings, business reviews, and goal/OKR tracking.
• Lead internal communication strategies and channels to ensure strategic alignment and transparency across the organization.
• Drive associate engagement and culture initiatives, analyzing team sentiment to design impactful programs.
• Work on medium to large-scale cross-departmental projects that directly impact the company.
• Drive cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and mitigate as needed.
• Plan, design, manage and execute project plans through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
• Leverage problem-solving to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain documentation.
• Conduct regular meetings with project teams and report progress to stakeholders.
• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to drive delivery.
• Forge relationships with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of commitments.
• Identify ways to improve and streamline business processes.

As a Senior Project Manager at Capital One, you will lead critical and strategic business projects and work closely with stakeholders to deliver direct business impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the operational “rhythm of the business” for the tower, including the design, execution, and optimization of leadership meetings, business reviews, and goal/OKR tracking.
• Lead internal communication strategies and channels (e.g., Slack, team newsletters, executive comms and decks) to ensure strategic alignment and transparency across the organization.
• Drive associate engagement and culture initiatives, analyzing team sentiment/AAS to design impactful programs that enhance morale, retention, and inclusion.
• Work on medium to large-scale complex, cross-departmental projects that directly impact the company.
• Drive cross-functional projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and budget are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate and/or elevate as needed.
• Plan, design, manage and execute project plans to ensure delivery, including management through feasibility, design, planning and implementation.
• Leverage problem-solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation.
• Conduct regular meetings with the project team and document progress, reporting to stakeholders on project status.
• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience.
• At least 3 years of Project Management experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters / MBA degree.
• At least 5 years of Project Management experience.
• At least 1 year of People Management experience.
• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving and influencing skills.
• Work experience achieving results with complex projects.

• Chicago, IL: $87,700 - $100,100
• McLean, VA: $96,500 - $110,100
• New York, NY: $105,300 - $120,100
• Richmond, VA: $87,700 - $100,100
• Riverwoods, IL: $87,700 - $100,100

This role is eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
