Job summary

Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Washington, DC advisory team. The role involves managing all phases of multiple commercial real estate projects, from planning through closeout, while collaborating with clients to define scope, budgets, and schedules.

The position is hybrid, requiring on-site presence as dictated by client needs, with opportunities to lead high-end interior projects, data centers, and mission-critical facilities for a diverse client

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 6+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with high-end interior projects, data centers, and demanding clients.
  • Proficient in MS Office; MS Project or similar PM software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all areas of project management for multiple commercial real estate projects.
  • Prepare project elements with clients, including scope, resources, cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
  • Define project delivery resources, conduct RFPs, evaluate bids, and recommend resources.
  • Facilitate charter development and integrated timelines, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Lead and coach project teams to meet client expectations and company standards.

Job Description

Turner & Townsend are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team. The ideal individual will have prior experience supporting high-end commercial real estate projects for various clients for the Washington, DC advisory business.

This is a hybrid role, the selected candidate will be required to report to the clients' offices or project offices as dictated by client's needs and project requirements.

What you’ll do
  • Manage all areas of project management for multiple commercial real estate projects. This includes planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
  • Work directly with clients to prepare all elements of the project. This includes the scope of work, project delivery resource requirements, cost estimates & budget, work plan schedule & landmarks, quality control, and risk identification.
  • Define the project delivery resources from pre-qualified lists or through the project qualification process. Conduct complex requests for proposals, complete bid evaluations, and recommend resources to clients.
  • Facilitate the development of a charter and integrated timeline.
  • Ensure all functions remain on schedule and issues get resolved or raised.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to review project status for active and pending projects.
  • Collaborate to develop solutions and guide the project team through implementation and completion.
  • Apply advanced knowledge to seek and develop new, better methods for accomplishing both individual and department objectives.
  • Showcase expertise in own job subject area and in-depth knowledge of other job fields within the organization function.
  • Coach others to develop in-depth knowledge and expertise in most or all areas within the function.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with company values. Anticipates potential objections and persuades others, often at senior levels and of divergent interest, to adopt a different point of view.
  • Impact the achievement of customer, operational, project, or service objectives across multi-discipline teams. Work is guided by functional policies which impact the design of procedures and policies.
  • Communicate difficult and complex ideas with the ability to influence.
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
Qualifications
What you’ll need

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 6+ years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Prior experience working with commercial high-end interior projects, dry labs, data centers, mission critical, heavy MEP, and demanding clients is strongly desired.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with MS Project or similar project management software.
  • Proven track record of leading multiple projects in varying stages simultaneously and the ability to deliver under pressure in fast-paced environments is preferred.
  • Interpersonal skills with an advanced inquisitive mentality.
