Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager manages the overall project direction, completion, and financial outcome for assigned projects. This role directs and mentors on-site staff and requires strong business management acumen, leadership, organization, time management, and excellent communication and client service skills.
Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Leads implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies.
- All duties and responsibilities of a Project Manager 4, plus:
- Leads Strategy Conflict Resolution Process with Owners with PD Guidance.
- Serves as Lead Owner/Client Interface.
- Serves as Client - Project Executive Point of Contact.
- Co-Leads Pursuit Strategy with Marketing/Business Development Assistance.
- Oversees Change Management Process.
- Develops Project Staffing Plan.
- Oversees development and implementation of Project Execution Plan.
- Able to manage large, complex, and/or multiple jobs.
- Reviews and approves Project Execution Plan.
- Assists in negotiating and finalizing Owner Contract Agreements.
- Adheres to Guiding Principles and Way We Work.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Skills & Abilities
- Has completed OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification and First Aid & CPR Training and Certification.
- Effective communicator.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products and project/document control software.
- Strong understanding of the industry with excellent written and verbal communication.
- Good math/accounting skills and strong management abilities.
- Functions effectively as part of a team and maintains client relationships.
- Discretion and confidentiality at all times; dependable with excellent time management.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills; comfortable public speaking.
- Thorough understanding of contracts and risk management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.
- Minimum of 15 years of industry experience.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, including budgets over $75 million.
- Experience in Aviation, Mission Critical, and/or Higher Education sectors preferred.
Working Conditions and Physical Efforts
- Adaptable to all weather conditions; able to traverse and inspect construction sites (walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching).
- Physically able to stand, bend, and sit for long periods; squat as needed.
- Ability to communicate effectively in meetings, video conferences, and calls.
- Proficient in composing and replying to emails and written correspondence.
- Ability to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional travel may be required, primarily in the metropolitan area; valid driver’s license required.
- Exposure to typical construction site hazards.
