Job summary

Valdeseng is seeking an experienced project manager to lead all phases of CTG/CCGT project execution from development through COD. This role involves managing EPC contractors, establishing project scope, schedule, and budget, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate will have 10–15+ years of experience in power generation projects, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record in managing large-scale EPC projects. A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is required.

Job description

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead all phases of CTG/CCGT project execution from development through COD.
  • Manage EPC contractors and OEMs (e.g., GE, Siemens, Mitsubishi).
  • Establish and maintain project scope, schedule, and budget (typically $300MM – $1B+).
  • Ensure alignment with commercial, regulatory, and operational requirements.
  • Drive decision‑making and problem resolution across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Collaborate with project engineering and Owner’s Engineer on gas turbine and steam turbine specifications and integration.
  • Coordinate HRSG design and performance, balance‑of‑plant systems (cooling water, fuel gas, electrical systems).
  • Plan phased construction approach and grid interconnection requirements.
  • Obtain environmental permits and ensure compliance with all applicable building and national codes.
  • Oversee site construction activities: civil works and foundations; turbine installation and alignment; HRSG erection; electrical and I&C installation.
  • Monitor contractor productivity, safety, and quality performance.
  • Lead site progress reporting and milestone tracking.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, maintain a zero‑incident mindset, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
  • Oversee environmental compliance during construction and startup.
  • Proven track record delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and meeting performance guarantees.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • 10–15+ years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial projects.
  • 7+ years managing large EPC projects ($100MM+).
  • 5+ years experience managing construction‑related projects.
  • 3+ years experience working with pipeline construction contractors.
  • 3+ years experience managing project budgets.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Travel required: 30–40%.
  • Must possess exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
Technical Expertise
  • Strong understanding of CTG and CCGT plant design and operation.
  • Knowledge of HRSG systems and thermodynamic cycles.
  • Knowledge of high‑voltage systems and grid interconnection.
  • Experience with gas turbine projects (frame units, aeroderivatives).
  • Experience with combined‑cycle plant construction (1x1 or larger).
  • Familiarity with OEM platforms.
  • Knowledge of gas system design, operations, contracts, and emergency response.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal operating codes and construction codes.
  • Proficiency with construction scheduling software, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer software.
Certifications
  • PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • OSHA 30‑hour safety certification or equivalent.
