Senior Project Manager – K‑12 Construction
Vanir PNW is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead K‑12 new construction and renovation projects across Washington state. The role supports all project phases, ensuring compliance with contract documents, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. The position may involve travel to projects in Tacoma and Seattle.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning, coordination, and execution to meet scope, schedule, budget, and quality goals.
- Serve as primary liaison with school districts, design teams, contractors, and public agencies.
- Develop project procedures and support contract administration and A/E coordination.
- Oversee cost management, scheduling, change management, risk mitigation, and project controls.
- Manage design coordination, constructability reviews, bid phases, and project meetings.
- Track progress against milestones and KPIs; provide status reporting.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, permits, and agency requirements.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop PMs, Assistant PMs, CMs, and project staff.
- Support project closeout and owner turnover.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- 7+ years of project management experience with senior-level oversight and staff supervision.
- Experience with public agencies and school districts.
- Experience with procurement (RFPs, RFQs, bid evaluations).
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Experience in project accounting, cost management, and administrative functions.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, drawings, estimates, and specifications.
- Experience managing design phases (user groups, constructability, specifications).
- Ability to manage deadlines, resolve issues proactively, and track to completion.
- Experience with local permitting authorities and change order negotiation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CM tools (Bluebeam, Procore, Prolog, Primavera).
- Experience with project controls, estimating, cost control, and scheduling.
Preferred Qualifications
- K‑12 project experience (planning, design, and construction).
- School district bond program experience.
- Professional license (Architect, Engineer, or General Contractor).
- PMP certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Design‑build experience; DBIA certification (or willingness to obtain).
