Job summary

Apex is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead engineers on infrastructure projects from planning through construction, driving schedules, budgets, quality, and client satisfaction. You will mentor staff and guide a regional program across the western U.S., with a focus on strategic growth.

Requirements include a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Nevada PE (or ability to obtain), and 15+ years of civil experience.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering (or related field) required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration in Nevada (or ability to obtain such a license) required.
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience required.
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead multidisciplinary project teams.
• Project management experience including development of project proposals, scopes, budgets, and successful execution of engineering projects.
• Strong staff mentorship and performance management capabilities.
• Experience with strategic planning, client development, and operational oversight.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, and strong interpersonal skills.

Your Responsibilities as a Senior Project Manager:

• Lead and manage a team of engineers and technical staff on a wide variety of infrastructure projects—from planning and design through bidding and construction.
• Drive operational excellence by monitoring project schedules, budgets, technical quality, and team workload.
• Strengthen and expand client relationships and workload through responsive, value-driven engineering solutions.
• Guide and mentor staff to cultivate a high-performing team culture focused on quality, accountability, and professional growth.
• Develop and strengthen client relationships by proactively identifying new business opportunities through networking, thoughtful engagement, proposal preparation, and client presentations, supporting the growth of our regional business development program.
• Partner with division leadership on strategic planning, business development, and client relationship management throughout the western U.S.
• Play a central role in talent development, succession planning, and long-term organizational sustainability.
• Take the lead for refinement and implementation of the firm’s strategy, business growth plan, and day-to-day operations of our Denver office to achieve overall corporate objectives and ensure profitability.

What we're looking for:
