Job summary

GrayMar Environmental Services, LLC is seeking a Senior Project Manager to oversee environmental remediation, industrial services, and emergency response projects. You will lead teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure safety and compliance across assigned branches.

The role requires 7+ years in HAZWOPER/environmental supervision, strong leadership, and ability to coordinate complex multi‑phase projects with travel as needed. A.S./A.A.

Qualifications

• AS/AA in environmental field or equivalent training.
• HAZWOPER certification is preferred.
• 7+ years as environmental supervisor with leadership experience.
• 8+ years driving with clean record.
• Experience with MS Office applications (Outlook/Teams/Word/Excel).
• Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations.

Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager (PM) reports directly to the General Manager and is responsible for supporting the overall performance at their assigned branch or office location to ensure operations are conducted in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner consistent with GrayMar’s established objectives, policies and procedures. Provides support and oversight of assigned projects including day-to-day activities, personnel management, scope of work, and other related duties as assigned to ensure operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and direction to Team Members and Model GrayMar Values.
• Ensure each employee is prepared and educated on Safe work practices
• Develop, coach and train employees. Provide ongoing feedback and motivation.
• Identify, strategize and execute new and existing customer opportunities to support branch revenue.
• Manage projects with work scope in environmental remediation, industrial services, emergency response and hazardous materials transportation and disposal.
• Develop estimates, quotes and proposals for new and existing customer projects.
• Lead day-to-day activities of assigned projects including customer communication, quality control, project schedule, project work plan, cost tracking, and possible changes in scope of work.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently; manage complex muti-phase projects.
• Field supervision of employees, providing direction, safety protocols, scope of work and best practices.
• Preform field safety audits, report findings to branch management and Health and Safety department.
• Complete and or support required project documentation and employee timesheets with accuracy, and in required timeframes.
• Support waste management responsibilities including but not limited to profile requests and submissions, manifesting, placarding, labeling, recordkeeping, 10-day logs, waste inspections, branch Non-Haz/VSQG bulking, consolidation, re-packaging, drum in/drum out waste programs, scheduling, and as-needed use of waste management software.
• Support General Manager and Operations Manager with supervision; lead, motivate, and support a large team of Supervisors, Drivers and Technicians within a time-sensitive, demanding, diverse environment to drive employee retention and ensure adequate staffing for the branch.
• Support and perform general maintenance, repairs and inventory tasks, as needed.
• Respond to emergencies as needed, 24/7, including holidays, nights and weekends.
• Travel for emergency responses and scheduled work.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications

• Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset.
• Ability to work independently or part of a team while managing multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA, DOT, and RCRA regulations.
• Comprehensive knowledge in HAZWOPER and Environmental industry, specific to environmental remediation, industrial services, emergency response and hazardous materials transportation and disposal.
• Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills to effectively communicate with team members and on-site customer personnel.
• Ability to oversee assigned projects and delegate responsibilities to complete job in a safe, compliant, and efficient manner.
• Thorough attention to detail and excellent time management and organizational skills.

Education and Experience Required

• A.S./A.A. degree or equivalent training and certifications in HAZWOPER/Environmental industry.
• 7+ years as a HAZWOPER/Environmental supervisor; or 5+ years of HAZWOPER/Environmental experience with 2+ years of supervisor experience in a comparable industry.
• 8+ years driving experience with a current and clean driving record.
• 3+ years of experience with computer applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Acrobat and Excel.
