Job summary

PM Technologies, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager for educational facility programs. You will resolve complex issues, monitor schedules, and review change orders to protect district timelines and budgets.

The role requires strong contract administration, cost control, and cross-department coordination. Preferred candidates have five years of relevant experience in educational facilities or large projects; CMAA CCM certification may substitute.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects.
• Certification: CMAA CCM preferred or substituting for education requirements.
• Twenty-five (25) years of full-time project management experience acceptable in lieu of degree criteria.

Responsibilities

• Resolves complex construction project issues, disputes, and disagreements.
• Reviews project progress and schedules against planned milestones.
• Reviews change orders and assesses impact on district timelines and costs.
• Assists with bid and contract planning and evaluation.
• Ensures contract administration, quality control, and cost management across multiple projects.
• Coordinates program activities with other district branches and safety/engineering offices.

Job description

• Resolves complex construction project related issues, disputes, and disagreements
• Develop, assign, and monitor performance of OARs relative to assigned construction projects
• Reviews status and overall construction project progress relative to submitted construction schedules
• Reviews change orders from all construction projects and assesses their impact on the district
• Assists Regional Directors and other Facilities management staff with bid and contract planning
• Assesses bid specifications according to District needs and probability of completion under stated timeline
• Reviews status and monitors variances of the construction project database relative to scheduling and cost control reporting
• Reviews and verifies submitted applications for payment and perform overall fiscal management of multiple construction projects
• Provides functional direction over areas of responsibility including construction project schedules, cost control, dispute resolution, contract administration, and quality control
• Reviews and monitors overall administration of contracts for Architects and related consultants
• Coordinates program activities with other District organizational branches and departments such as the Office of Environmental Health and Safety, Design and A/E Technical Support, Asset Management Branch, Facilities Contract Administration, Inspection Unit, Maintenance and Operations, and local districts
• Reviews and resolves disputes related to construction projects
• Develop and recommend internal policies and procedures
• Performs other related duties as assigned
• Must have five (5) years 'experience in educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California)
• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a degree in architecture, engineering or construction management.
• A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) may substitute for the education requirement.

OR

• A. Twenty-five (25) years full-time paid professional project/construction management experience
• Twenty (20) of the 25 years must be managing large programs with projects having construction values of more than $50milllion (not cumulative)
• Must have five(5) years’ experience i n educational facility construction, public works or large commercial projects (may include projects outside of California)
• Preferred (Not Required): Graduation from a recognized college or university with a degree in architecture, engineering or construction management
• Preferred (Not Required): A Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential from the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA).

Additional Preferred Experience:

• Design Build Experience
• Experience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design(LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS)
• Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes

Preferred Licenses and Certificates:

• A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
