Job summary

Project Control seeks a Senior Project Manager to join our Dallas, TX team. You will lead project performance, drive client advocacy, and manage teams to deliver on scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

You will also engage in business development and industry networking to grow the firm's presence. You will mentor staff, oversee procurement and contracts, and ensure profitability while maintaining high standards for deliverables and governance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • “10+ years of project management experience, with 5+ years in an Owner’s Rep or similar role.”
  • Experience in leading AEC teams on complex projects and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Project Control team in the Dallas, TX area. This role focuses primarily on project performance, with a significant portion dedicated to leading project teams and ensuring effective outcomes. A portion of time is also spent on marketplace activities, staying engaged with industry trends and business development. The Senior Project Manager is committed to personal growth and fostering the development of others, while also ensuring financial performance is aligned with project goals. In addition, the role involves contributing to marketing efforts and growing the firm's presence in the market. As the primary advocate for clients, the Senior Project Manager ensures superior quality project delivery, drives the firm’s growth, and enhances profitability through visionary leadership.

  • Oversee all aspects of project performance, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards are met.
  • Provide strategic client advice and act as the primary advocate for owner interests.
  • Lead project teams, set direction, and ensure high standards for deliverables and documentation.
  • Manage procurement and contract negotiations with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Mentor and develop staff, ensuring growth and professional development within the team.
  • Contribute to firm growth through business development, networking, and maintaining client relationships.
  • Oversee project finances, invoicing, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Support marketing efforts including proposals, qualifications, and firm visibility.
  • Travel to project sites and client offices as needed, ensuring alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Understand, adhere and participate in the Raba Kistner Health and Safety and (BBS) Programs and set a good safety example
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience. Six to ten years related experience may be substituted for education requirement
  • Minimum 10 years of project management experience, with at least 5 years in an Owner’s Rep or similar role.
  • Proven expertise in client advocacy, strategic negotiations, and leading AEC teams on complex projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills, with a focus on quality internal work and strategic project approaches.
  • Experience as a doer-seller, with a track record of building client relationships and securing new business opportunities
  • Possess a valid driver’s license within the applicable jurisdiction and meet company’s auto insurability requirements

Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.) and Microsoft Project. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, wet or humid conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. Noise level for this position is moderate.

This position may require protracted or irregular hours. Work may require out-of-town/overnight travel to Raba Kistner offices, client offices, and project locations. Flexibility to work irregular hours is necessary due to client needs.
