Job summary

Evans General Contractors, LLC is seeking a Project Manager to lead our project teams in delivering high-quality facilities on schedule and within budget. You will cultivate relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to drive profitable outcomes and growth.

You will oversee scheduling, procurement, and coordination of design, construction, and commissioning activities, ensuring code-compliant, constructible outcomes while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Sciences, or Construction Management preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management preferred.
  • Self-motivated with leadership from concept to closeout.
  • Experience in tenant upfits and renovations in Life Science Market Segment preferred.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Laboratories, AgriTech, AgBio, Biotechnology, or Cell/Gene Therapy preferred.
  • Strong subcontractor market relationships in North Carolina preferred.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills; ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Familiar with construction management software and tools (Navisworks, BIM360, MS Projects, Plan Grid, Revit).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project team in the development and management of project schedule.
  • Drive tasks and manage stakeholders to meet critical schedule milestones.
  • Work with project team to develop and manage project budget to meet contractual requirements and drive profitability.
  • Lead procurement of all subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Manage subcontractors, service providers, and vendors to meet project requirements, schedule milestones, and budget.
  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to ensure code compliant constructable design.
  • Coordinate with Owner and ensure terms are met.
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks with contingency planning.
  • Support field staff and provide leadership to ensure project completion on schedule.
  • Report project status to Senior Management on schedule, budget, safety, and client satisfaction.

Job description

The Project Manager is a key representative of Evans General Contractors, LLC. The Project Manager is responsible for leading Projects with the goal of exceeding our Client’s expectations and delivering quality facilities on schedule and at the most competitive prices. The Project Manager is expected to develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, as well as, subcontractors to support the growth of the company.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • In all duties and responsibilities, consistently demonstrate professionalism and integrity to build trust relationships with clients, partners, vendors, subcontractors and other project stakeholders with commitment to a successful project outcome.
  • Lead the project team in the development and management of project schedule
  • Drive tasks and manage stakeholders to meet critical schedule milestones including design, procurement, construction, startup, commissioning, punchlisting, and closeout.
  • Work with project team to develop and manage project budget to meet contractual requirements and drive business profitability. Project manager is responsible for overall financial outcome of the project.
  • Lead procurement of all subcontracts and purchase orders coordinating and managing internal resources to meet schedule and cost goals.
  • Manage subcontractors, service providers, and vendors to meet project requirements, schedule milestones, and budget.
  • Manage and coordinate architects and engineers to provide a code compliant constructable design that meets needs to the Client as well as contractual obligations.
  • Administrator and Manage Owner Contract including providing information, notification, and updates to Owner and ensuring Evans is complying to the terms and conditions set forth.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to obtain all necessary permits, licenses, and items required to comply with terms, conditions, and regulations.
  • Utilize experience to assess and mitigate risks to project including development of contingency plans.
  • Support Project Superintendent and Field Staff in the execution of Project by providing leadership and managing resources including coordinating services and materials required to complete project according to plans and schedule.
  • Provide consistent and clear communication with project stakeholders
  • Manage project closeout phase including Turnover Packages, Startup & Commissioning, AHJ Inspections and Punchlisting to meet schedule milestones, performance parameters, and client expectations.
  • Report project status regularly to Senior Management on schedule, budget, safety, customer satisfaction including cash flows and financial projections.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Construction Sciences, or Construction Management, preferred
  • Preferred 10 years of experience in Construction Project Management.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to provide leadership for projects from concept to closeout.
  • Experience in tenant upfits and renovations in Life Science Market Segment preferred
  • Passion for developing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Experience in Pharmaceutical, Laboratories, AgriTech, AgBio, Biotechnology, or Cell/Gene Therapy preferred.
  • Strong relationship with subcontractor market in North Carolina strongly preferred.
  • Superior communication and presentation skills, with a strong ability to influence decisions of team members, partners and customers.
  • Ability to work in Construction Management & Project Administration Software along with various software packages required to complete project (Navisworks, BIM360, MS Office, MS Projects, Plan Grid, Vista, ViewPoint, Revit, etc.)
