Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA INC in South Boston, Virginia, is seeking a Project Financial Controller to partner with project managers and stakeholders to drive profitable project execution. You’ll own financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support decision making.

This role requires strong analytical skills, experience with SAP Project Module, and the ability to ensure compliance with internal controls and SOX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance with 2+ years multinational experience or Master’s degree with 2+ years.
• Strong knowledge of financial functions in engineering/manufacturing industries.
• Exceptional analytical, decision-making, and planning skills.
• Familiarity with SAP Project Module.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Professional certifications (CPA, CMA, CPIM) or MBA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
• Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and analyze financial performance reports, including earned value analysis.
• Manage invoicing, revenue recognition, and cash flow for projects.
• Support project managers with data-driven financial insights.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and contractual obligations.
• Collaborate across departments to align financial objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement of project control processes and tools.
• Assure compliance with Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines and SOX controls.
• Identify risks and implement risk management procedures.
• Review routine actual cost vs plan on a project by project basis.
