Job summary

Pepper Construction in Cincinnati seeks a Senior Project Executive to lead large-scale private-sector projects from budgeting through closeout. You will guide project management and field teams, set priorities, and champion safety and quality to deliver exceptional client outcomes.

You’ll drive strategic direction, oversee estimating, value engineering, and financial performance on projects over $50 million, build trusted client relationships, mentor staff, and lead risk management and contracts

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years progressive construction project management experience.
• Proven success managing large projects exceeding $50 million.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building abilities.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, risk management, contract negotiation, and project financial oversight.
• Business development and client-facing experience.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in construction management software and project controls.
• Thorough understanding of construction operations, contracts, safety practices, and delivery methods.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional client satisfaction by understanding and exceeding client expectations.
• Lead project estimating, value engineering, budgeting, and financial planning efforts.
• Provide executive oversight for construction projects exceeding $50 million.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks to ensure accurate forecasting and successful outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, clients, design partners, and key stakeholders.
• Participate in business development activities, including client presentations, project interviews, and pursuit strategies.
• Negotiate and secure new business opportunities.
• Champion Pepper's safety culture and ensure safety remains the top priority on every project.
• Mentor, develop, and coach project management staff to build high-performing teams.
• Provide leadership in resolving complex project, contractual, and operational challenges.
• Lead subcontractor and material procurement, buyout strategies, and contract negotiations.
• Direct project planning, scheduling, and resource management.
• Promote the use of Pepper's Integrated Services and Self Perform Group capabilities.
• Oversee project execution, including subcontractor coordination, quality control, documentation, safety compliance, and issue resolution.
• Monitor project financial performance through forecasting, cost management, and profitability analysis.
• Lead project startup, progress, and closeout activities to ensure successful delivery.
