Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Project Executive to oversee project management and ensure the financial success of projects across the Northwest Florida region.

You will lead multiple project teams, drive client relations with municipal, k-12, and public safety clients, and guide pursuits in the commercial sector. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in construction-related fields and 10+ years of experience in commercial construction, with strong leadership, communication, and drawing-spec

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, municipal/k-12/public safety.
• Ability to interpret civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural drawings, specs, and contract documents.
• Experience with multiple delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, CMAR, Design-Build).
• Strong leadership, organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong client relations with municipal, k-12, and public safety clients.
• Provide leadership and strategic direction to multiple project teams on commercial construction projects.
• Mentor and coach team members to improve project execution and delivery.
• Collaborate with Business Development and Marketing to identify new commercial opportunities.
• Participate in pursuits, client development, and bid strategies within the commercial sector.
• Review and negotiate contract documents to ensure understanding of scope and requirements.
• Coordinate stakeholders to meet contractual obligations and client satisfaction.
• Promote collaboration and accountability across project teams.
• Supervise and review work to ensure compliance, quality, and accuracy.
• Oversee project financial performance including cost tracking, forecasting, and profitability.
