Job summary

Genie Matthews & Associates seeks a Project Engineering Manager to act as the technical lead for large-scale capital projects in the chemical sector. You will oversee engineering activities from development through startup and handover, coordinating disciplines, EPC contractors, licensors and vendors, and internal stakeholders to drive technical excellence and project performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, required.
• 10+ years delivering large capital projects in chemical/oil & gas or related industries.
• Proven leadership as Project Engineering Manager or similar on EPC projects.
• Knowledge of FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning, startup, and operations handover.
• Knowledge of process safety management and risk-based design.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering and technical execution of major capital projects from concept through startup and handover.
• Provide oversight across process, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation & controls, utilities, and infrastructure disciplines.
• Manage technical interfaces with EPC contractors, licensors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Develop and implement engineering standards, processes, and best practices to support project execution.
• Ensure safety, regulatory, quality, and process safety requirements compliance including HAZOP, LOPA, SIL, and MOC activities.
• Drive project integration, constructability, schedule adherence, and operational readiness.
• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate project risks, status, and recommendations to leadership.
