Job summary

Zeon Chemicals in Louisville, KY, is seeking an experienced project engineer/manager to evaluate and optimize manufacturing processes. You will design and install productive engineering systems to meet business plans, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency.

You will lead capital projects, develop procedures, manage budgets, and coordinate with stakeholders to ensure successful, timely outcomes while maintaining compliance with plant and government standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering is required.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant project management experience, preferably in chemical manufacturing.
• Proficiency in SAP is preferred; PSM experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Continuously seek out opportunities to improve production and processes aligned with business objectives.
• Collaborate with staff and leaders to ensure decisions are based on safety, budget, schedule, and capability.
• Design and communicate an operational plan for projects including schedules, budgets, and forecasts.
• Develop RFP packages with selection criteria and metrics.
• Apply sound engineering principles to achieve on-time, within-budget results.
• Lead long-term improvement initiatives for chronic process issues.
• Coordinate capital projects with engineering and construction management.
• Support training of operators in new procedures and processes.
• Develop scope and implement process changes from business plans and corrective actions.
• Identify and support enhancements to control systems (DCS/PLC) as needed.
• Monitor adherence to safety procedures and improve 5S performance.
