At IPS, we apply our knowledge, skills, and passion to make a difference in the lives of people, solving complex challenges related to life sciences. We are looking for a dedicated Senior Project Engineer, PJC to join our talented team at our office located in Somerset, NJ.

In this role, you will be assigned to projects to review, coordinate, and summarize activities related to cost control, planning and scheduling, document control, and estimating. You will support the Project Manager in delivering projects, focusing on quality and safety objectives, coordinating resources, interacting with clients, and fostering positive relationships.

Position Responsibilities
  1. Identify and analyze potential project problems.
  2. Develop a working knowledge of prime contract requirements and apply this to project activities.
  3. Coordinate review and approval from the Project Executive and/or Director of Operations, and communicate this to the project team.
  4. Support the Project Manager in:
    1. Developing and maintaining project scopes of work and communicating them.
    2. Developing and maintaining project schedules, including activity lists, durations, and sequencing.
    3. Monitoring and reporting project costs.
    4. Developing change control and financial documentation.
    5. Coordinating safety resources to monitor site safety and correct nonconformances.
    6. Procurement and coordination of project resources, including intra-divisional, interdivisional, and external.
    7. Preparing subcontracts, purchase orders, and related documentation.
    8. Evaluating vendor and subcontractor invoices.
    9. Facilitating communication among project participants and documenting it.
  5. Understand contractually required quality standards and support quality assurance.
  6. Assist the Financial group in preparing invoices.
  7. Work with Document Control to ensure proper distribution, review, and storage of project documents.
Qualifications & Requirements
  1. 16+ years of professional experience.
  2. Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, or construction management.
  3. Experience in cost engineering, estimating, scheduling, and earned value management.
  4. Knowledge of project budgets and exception management.
  5. Experience managing multiple projects and implementing PMO best practices.
  6. Experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPC).
  7. Professional credentials such as CCT, CCP, CST, CSP, EVP, CMIT, CCM, PMP, or EIT are encouraged.
  8. High proficiency in industry software: MS Office, Primavera, MS Project, ERP systems (JDE, QUAD, SAP, ARIBA, CONCUR), and PPM software (Prolog, Proliance, Prism G2, Procore, Cleopatra, Cora Systems).
Context, Environment, & Safety

  • Ability to work independently or in a team with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit for long periods, and use computers extensively.
  • Experience in both office and field environments.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
