Job summary

RTX is seeking a skilled engineer for the Compression Systems Engineering group in the US. You will join the IPT to plan, budget, and execute hardware tasks for engine programs, presenting progress to IPT leads and management. Travel up to 10% is required.

The role prefers a mechanical or aerospace engineering background with jet engine experience and knowledge of MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP, and Jira/Confluence. Onsite work location is emphasized.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Engineering with 5+ years of engineering experience, OR
  • Advanced degree in a related field with 3+ years of engineering experience.
  • U.S. Person or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Integrated Product Team (IPT) to meet task and technical requirements and budget for all hardware and tasks.
  • Prepare/present status and technical content to IPT Lead, CIPT & upper Pratt & Whitney management.
  • Work closely with the Integrated Product Team and authorities on hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.
  • Evaluate product improvement opportunities and initiate process changes or support ESTO for Class II Engineering Changes.
  • Support the Integrated Product Team in performing risk assessments and developing mitigation plans.
  • Travel up to 10% (Domestic and International).

What You Will Do

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.

Compression Systems Engineering (CSE)

Compression Systems Engineering is responsible for the design, development, and in service support of all fans low-pressure and high-pressure compressors for commercial and military engine models. CSE is responsible for the identification and maturation of new technologies for these products.

Technical disciplines in CSE include Project Engineering, Mechanical Design, Structural Analysis, and Product Definition.
