Job summary

Prismhr Hire is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Nevada to coordinate construction projects with EPCM firms and supervise plant operations after startup.

You will manage site viability, permitting, cost estimates, scheduling, safety, and vendor relations, serving as the primary contact for management and third-party providers. A Nevada PE license, 7+ years in project engineering/PM, and strong leadership and communication skills are required; PMP is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Seven+ years of project engineering and project management experience, preferably in metallurgical processing projects.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in Nevada or ability to register.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety management and project controls.

Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer theSenior Project Engineerwill coordinate and execute construction projects in the organization. Working day to day with the EPCM firm the Senior Project Engineer will be the first point of contact for the company to our third-party service providers. Another aspect of the job is to evaluate and assist in supervising the plant operations once construction is complete.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Executes site searches for future projects and evaluates site viability for project needs
  • Manages permitting and construction of a pilot plant facility.
  • Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
  • Executes project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management.
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors.
  • Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates.
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions.
  • Controls project costs by analyzing quotes and timesheets and provides guidance to the management and contracts team.
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Works with the Operational Readiness team to ensure a safe hand off to operations
  • Once operational, the position will switch to the following:
    • Attend daily operations meetings
    • Plan and execute preventative maintenance
    • Review plant data
    • Being preparing future engineering studies for expansion
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Process Engineering; PMP Designation is an asset
  • Registered (or the ability to register) Professional Engineer in the state of Nevada
  • A minimum of 7 years of project engineering and project management experience, ideally in metallurgical processing projects
  • Strong background in construction safety management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Project and other project related software.
