Job summary

Tharros is seeking a Lead Project Engineer to provide senior technical leadership in support of NSWCDD at Dahlgren, VA. You will lead cross-functional engineering activities across weapon systems, fire control, cybersecurity, and combat systems integration, translating government requirements into actionable tasks for the contractor team.

Projects include systems engineering support for weapons systems and warfare platforms.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, scientific, or technical discipline with 10 years of relevant experience; OR 15 years of experience relevant to SOW technical disciplines.
10 years of systems engineering, design, and development experience with weapon, combat, or fire control systems.
Experience with identification, analysis, and resolution of complex DoD cyber situational awareness, surface, and subsurface Navy weapon systems.
6 years of concurrent, direct experience providing project engineering and technical leadership for a DoD enterprise program or Navy program such as SLBM, Aegis, or Tomahawk.
Experience with system integration across multiple Navy surface and submarine platforms and operational weapon systems.
Experience with DevSecOps pipeline and full stack software engineering.
Experience with Integrated Logistics Support, Test and Evaluation, or software engineering disciplines.
Familiarity with DoD enterprise systems integration.
Prior NSWCDD Dahlgren Division project engineering experience desired.
Experience with the program offices and systems described in the description section.

Responsibilities

Provide senior technical leadership across weapon systems, combat, fire control, and cyber domains.
Lead day-to-day execution translating government requirements into engineering tasks.
Coordinate systems engineering across multiple Navy platforms and subsystems.
Identify, analyze, and mitigate complex systems engineering issues for DoD programs.
Direct system integration activities across Navy surface and submarine platforms.
Review and approve technical deliverables for quality and compliance.
Collaborate with government TPOCs on technical direction and priorities.
Support development and maintenance of the Integrated Master Schedule for engineering tasks.
Mentor junior engineers across technical disciplines.
Lead risk identification and mitigation planning; support DevSecOps activities.
