Job summary

Wahl Clipper Corporation seeks a Project Engineer for New Product Development in Sterling, IL. The role focuses on competitor awareness, cross-functional project flow, and adherence to development procedures to deliver high-quality consumer appliances.

The candidate will lead design, manufacturing, cost, tooling, performance and quality specifications, plus corrective actions. Expect rigorous testing, BOM control, model oversight, and design reviews with manufacturing and quality teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
• 6 yrs exp in electro-mech/mech design eng or product eng.
• 5 yrs exp in Electro-mech/Mechanical Design.
• 2 yrs exp w 3-D modeling and simulation tools.
• 2 yrs exp w cutting elements and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage project flow with manufacturing and cross-functional staff.
• Adhere to procedures for product development and design output for non-engineering depts.
• Responsible for design, manufacturing, cost, tooling, performance and quality specs; corrective action.
• Establish and revise drawings, bill of materials, routers and specs.
• Conduct electrical, quality, performance, safety and reliability testing.
• Establish bill of materials; oversee models and schedule design review.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and quality to develop fixtures and gauges.
• Track project schedule and progress.
