Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to supervise at the project level, coordinating with field operations to ensure information transfer is accurate and timely. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree plus at least eight years of related experience.
  • Data center/mission critical project experience highly desired.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles and techniques, various building systems.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of Turner's Project Management and scheduling software desirable.
  • Ability to implement leading-edge technologies such as BIM and Lean to benefit the project.
  • Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand drawings and specifications, general contract and subcontract documents, materials, means and methods.
  • Very strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project-level engineering and administrative policies, procedures and functions.
  • Coordinate with project field operations to ensure transfer of information is delivered, understood and implemented.
  • Lead, supervise and develop all Turner engineering staff, including input on performance appraisals.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
  • Establish and maintain procedures with design professionals, consultants, owner and subcontractors for information flow and approvals.
  • Work with Preconstruction, Estimating and Purchasing on GMP or initial project budget and lead preconstruction effort.
  • Conduct thorough construction document reviews for constructability and QA/QC; raise concerns to design professionals.
  • Prepare detailed contract items list and trade scope documents for bids and procurements.
  • Develop procurement schedule for subcontractors and major purchases to meet schedule.
  • Manage financial status of the project including status reports and financial accuracy.
  • Schedule, conduct and document all job meetings and coordination meetings.
  • Manage subcontract change orders including review, negotiation and approvals.
  • Oversee project close-out, warranties, and final payments.
