BKF is seeking a Senior Project Engineer in Newport Beach, CA, to lead land development design and delivery. The role emphasizes client engagement, mentoring junior staff, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the West Coast.

Requirements include a California-registered P.E. (or E.I.T. consideration), ABET-accredited civil engineering degree, and 4+ years in land development. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is expected.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• California P.E. license is highly preferred; Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) will also be considered.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in land development design and project delivery.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D; strong client-facing communication skills.

Responsabilités

We’re seeking a Senior Project Engineer with expertise in Land Development Civil Infrastructure to support our Newport Beach office. This role is ideal for a California licensed P.E. with years of experience who enjoys leading technical delivery, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating directly with clients. You’ll work closely with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver site development projects, including grading, drainage, underground utilities, and grade separations - helping to shape and build across the West Coast.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field from an ABET-accredited program
• California Professional Engineer (P.E.) license is highly preferred, Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) will also be considered
• Minimum 4 years of experience in land development design and project delivery
• Strong background in site development, grading, drainage, underground utilities, and entitlement processes
• Experienced with local agency standards, permitting processes, and coordination with municipalities and utility owners
• Proficiency in technical design AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management tools
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, both verbal and written, especially in client-facing settings
• Occasional travel required between BKF offices and client sites

Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly talk, hear and operate a computer, keyboard and mouse and occasionally lift, pull/push and carry up to 20 pounds with accommodations.

Work Conditions: Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds at a low or moderate level consistent with an office setting. Exposure to high-stress, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment. Travel to other BKF locations and client sites may be required.

Benefits

• The typical base salary range for this position is $103,000.00 - $142,000.00, annualized depending upon skills, experience, education, and geographical location. This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
