Job summary

DRMP is seeking a Senior Project Engineer with CEI experience to lead field activities, guide inspectors, and ensure project alignment with client expectations. Florida PE registration or ability to obtain within six months is required, along with six years of engineering experience, including road/bridge work.

You will mentor staff, manage budgets, review submittals, and support business development while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree and Florida PE registration (or ability to obtain within six months)
  • Six years of engineering experience (two in major road/bridge construction)
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • FDOT Advanced MOT certification
  • Attend CTQP QC Manager Course and pass the exam
  • Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues self-study
  • Position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week (salary)

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day CEI project operations to ensure compliance with contract requirements, plans, specifications, governing regulations, and safety standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to the project team, interpret plans and specifications, and resolve field issues while documenting decisions clearly.
  • Review and evaluate Contractor submittals, including RFIs, CPM schedules, and claim packages, and provide well-supported recommendations.
  • Ensure CEI documentation, materials records, and correspondence meet contract, CPAM, and quality standards.
  • Lead and coordinate CEI project staff, ensuring high-quality documentation, communication, and adherence to internal policies and procedures.
  • Lead project meetings and coordinate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders to support progress and issue resolution.
  • Manage project budgets, track labor usage, and support overall financial performance and forecasting.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and other stakeholders to support successful project delivery.
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, providing guidance in technical, administrative, and leadership growth areas.
  • Support business development by identifying future work opportunities and participating in pursuit activities.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer who brings strong technical experience, sound judgment, and a steady approach to leading Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) projects. This role is an important part of our team’s success and will involve guiding field activities, supporting inspectors and engineers, and ensuring our work aligns with our clients’ expectations. If you have solid CEI or construction administration experience and hold or can obtain your Florida PE License, we would welcome the opportunity to talk with you. What You'll Need
  • Must have an Engineering degree and registration in the State of Florida as a Professional Engineer (or if registered in another state, the ability to obtain registration in the State of Florida within six months).
  • Must have six (6) years of engineering experience (2 of which are in major road or bridge construction).
  • Strong technical writing skills
