Job summary

Power Packer North America Inc is seeking an engineer to lead specification, design, maintenance and support of components and subassemblies. You will verify compliance with functional, cost and manufacturability requirements and contribute to cost reduction and quality improvements.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering and hands-on experience with CAD tools, hydraulics/pneumatics, and simulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
• 2 years of relevant Product Design or R&D experience preferred.
• Knowledge of industry products, manufacturing processes and related technology.
• Experience with hydraulic or pneumatic systems preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; able to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Advanced CAD skills, especially SolidWorks.
• Experience with simulation/modelling tools, FMEA and 8D.
• Knowledge of APQP or stage gate development processes.

Responsibilities

• Define product and process specifications.
• Develop and modify engineering specifications for components and processes; verify standards.
• Create and modify conceptual designs and drawings using CAD tools and PDMS; support design reviews.
• Verify designs via calculations, modelling, CFD/FEA simulations.
• Prove design meets specs with test plans and reports; support prototypes.
• Develop, track, and implement design changes to reduce cost/improve quality.
• Provide estimates for engineering tasks and report progress.
• Document design artifacts per the product development process and write engineering reports.
