Job summary

LG Energy Solution Vertech, Inc. is seeking an Energy Storage Project Engineer to lead utility-scale battery storage projects.

You will serve as the technical liaison among internal teams, customers, vendors, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering, 6+ years of electrical engineering experience on large projects, knowledge of energy storage systems, and strong communication, organization, and travel readiness

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering and implementation of large electrical projects.
• Knowledge of energy storage systems, including batteries and inverters.
• Experience with project engineering processes, including technical document control, vendor coordination, and submittal preparation.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Strong understanding of electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, SCADA systems, and network infrastructure.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, UL, NFPA).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interfacing with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites as needed for site assessments, commissioning support, and customer meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale Energy Storage Projects by coordinating with internal teams, outside engineering, vendors, contractors and customers; respond to RFIs and guide design changes.
• Develop project-specific Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate technical requirements with vendors.
• Visit project sites to meet stakeholders, troubleshoot, and verify field status.
• Create commissioning and test plans; support FAT/FIT and troubleshooting during commissioning.
• Track technical issues, prepare weekly reports and submittals, and document acceptance tests for customer approval.

The Energy Storage Project Engineer plays a critical role in the successful delivery of utility-scale battery energy storage projects. This position serves as the primary technical liaison between internal teams, customers, vendors, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple technical tasks in a fast-paced project environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead large-scale Energy Storage Projects
  Serve as the project technical lead, driving alignment with internal teams, outside engineering, vendors, contractors and customers. Respond to RFIs, identify and close technical gaps, lead meetings, and coordinate design changes and clarifications.
• Vendor and Material Management
  Develop project-specific Bills of Materials (BOMs) and coordinate technical requirements and approvals with vendors.
• Site Visits and Evaluations
  Visit the project site to meet with other stakeholders, troubleshoot problems, and check that the status of field work
• Testing and Commissioning Support
  Create commissioning and test plans based on contract requirements, support Factory and Field Acceptance Testing (FAT/FIT), and assist with troubleshooting during commissioning.
• Project Documentation and Reporting
  Track technical issues, prepare weekly technical reports, prepare technical submittals, and create acceptance test reports for customer approval. Escalate complex technical issues to the Project Engineering Leader, assisting in resolution by providing thorough documentation and analysis.
• Safety and Compliance
  Be familiar with industry standards and best practices. Identify product or project non-compliance and safety issues based on project location and design.
• Network Design and Coordination
  Coordinate project network design between internal (Software and Network teams) and external stakeholders. Create network design documentation
