Job summary

NCDMM in Johnstown, PA seeks a Senior Project Engineer to lead and execute multiple projects within scope and budget. You will develop statements of work, cost proposals, and schedules, coordinating with customers, management, engineers, and technicians to ensure success.

Projects range from months to years with values from thousands to over $1 million. You will produce monthly and final technical reports and collaborate across teams to meet objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering with Manufacturing Technology/Mechanical emphasis and 10 years of experience.
• In lieu of a Bachelor's, an Associate's degree with 20 years of experience.
• Experience in manufacturing and machining industries with increasing responsibilities in technical applications.
• Experience successfully leading and maintaining projects with effective task delegation.
• Experience with Department of Defense programs.
• Travel willingness and strong communication/presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify business opportunities, develop existing customer relationships, and generate project plans.
• Develop and oversee projects (SOW, cost proposal, and schedule).
• Identify improvements to project management practices.
• Ensure projects are on time and within budget, meeting client objectives.
• Coordinate with Alliance Partners on projects.
• Provide monthly reports on assigned projects.
• Serve as primary customer interface and manage communications and information exchanges.
• Work with NCDMM personnel and contracting to ensure reporting for audits.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for effectively and efficiently planning, leading, and executing multiple projects within defined project scopes and budgetary contracts. Develop statements of work (SOWs), cost proposals and project timelines for new opportunities as needed.

This position must communicate well between the customer, management, other engineers, and technicians. Produce monthly and final technical reports on assigned projects.

Customer projects can range in length from 2 months to 2 years and with values from tens of thousands to more than $1 million.

Essential Functions

• Identifying business opportunities, developing existing customer relationships, and generating project plans.
• Developing and overseeing projects (SOW, Cost Proposal, and Schedule).
• Identifying improvements to internal and external project management practices.
• Ensuring project is on time, on budget and meets all set objectives, while meeting or exceeding client expectations.
• Identifying and recognizing Alliance Partner involvement on projects.
• Monthly reporting on assigned projects.
• Being the first line interface with customers and responsible for customer communications and information exchanges.
• Working closely with NCDMM personnel and contracting authorities to ensure adequate project reporting (budget and progress milestones) for internal and external audit review.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelors’ degree in Engineering with curriculum emphasizing Manufacturing Technology and or/Mechanical Engineering or other comparable degree program with 10 years of experience.
• In lieu of a Bachelors’ degree the incumbent can have a Associates’ degree in a related field with 20 years of experience.
• Experience in the manufacturing and machining industry with a proven record of increasing responsibility in technical applications.
• Experience successfully leading and maintaining individual projects, including effective delegation of tasks.
• Experience with Department of Defense
