Job summary

Ledcor is seeking a Project Coordinator to be at the heart of on-site heavy civil earthworks across the United States. You’ll work shoulder to shoulder with field teams, coordinating activities, tracking progress, and ensuring safe, efficient project execution.

This site-based role requires travel to project locations, with a focus on delivering complex earthworks safely and to the highest standards. Growth opportunities exist within marquee civil projects and a dynamic team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field preferred.
• Experience supporting field crews and coordination in heavy civil projects.
• Advanced proficiency with MS Office and scheduling tools (Primavera).
• Knowledge of RFIs, change orders, and closeout processes.
• Strong communication and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and specs to support field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations and track progress of materials and work.
• Assist in developing work plans and work packages for field execution.
• Support field surveying and layout, including elevation checks and as-built data collection.
• Compile and verify daily labor timesheets and field reports.
• Participate in safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Coordinate and schedule material deliveries to meet timelines.
• Plan and organize on-site workgroups for efficient execution.
• Provide oversight to field operations and subcontractor activities.
• Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with drafting.

We’re growing our Heavy Civil Earthworks team and looking for a driven Project Coordinator who’s ready to be at the heart of the action. In this site based role, you’ll travel to project locations across the U.S., working shoulder to shoulder with our field teams to keep operations running smoothly. From real time coordination and progress tracking to supporting on the ground execution, you’ll play a key role in delivering complex earthworks projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Essential Responsibilities

• Interpret construction drawings and specifications to support field crews and craft supervision
• Perform quantity calculations and track progress of installed materials and work
• Assist in developing work plans and work packages for field execution
• Support field surveying and layout, including elevation checks, control points, and as-built data collection
• Compile and verify daily labor timesheets and field reports
• Participate in safety reviews, toolbox talks, and site-wide safety meetings
• Coordinate and schedule material deliveries to meet project timelines
• Plan and organize work groups on-site to ensure efficient execution
• Provide oversight and support to field operations and subcontractor activities
• Perform basic engineering calculations and assist with technical drafting

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in field engineering, project coordination, or a similar role within heavy civil construction Proven track record supporting complex earthworks projects across multiple phases
• Education in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field (bachelor’s degree preferred)
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools such as Primavera
• Experience with construction planning software, 3D model viewers, and document management systems
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead coordination efforts and interact confidently with stakeholders
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes including project setup, subcontractor management, RFIs, change orders, and closeout
• Demonstrated leadership, mentorship, and problem-solving capabilities
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to travel and remain on-site for the duration of each project

Working Conditions

• Site based position
• Able to meet the physical requirements of the position which involves sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 pounds), working at heights, in confined spaces and in all types of weather conditions (rain, snow, heat etc.)
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule that could include nights and weekends
