Job summary

Orbital Engineering, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to support heavy industrial projects. You will lead cost and schedule controls, develop WBS, and implement Earned Value management to keep projects on track and within budget.

You will collaborate with project managers to ensure monitoring reflects latest status, forecast costs, and meet milestones, with a focus on quality and regulatory compliance. This on-site role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in relevant field or equivalent; Bachelor's degree a plus.
• 8+ years of Project Controls experience, preferably in Engineering.
• Proficient with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Proficient in Cost and Schedule Management principles.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management Systems.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people individually and in groups, including external partners and internal team members.
• Ability to work independently and contribute administrative support to teams.
• Strong organizational skills with proven experience prioritizing work and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage cost and schedule controls to provide project and company management with accurate forecasting information.
• Facilitate the development of the work breakdown structure (WBS).
• Implement and maintain Earned Value Management reporting on projects.
• Analyze, forecast and report cost and schedule KPI’s.
• Support and coordinate project management utilizing analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
• Coordinate and support development of project resource schedules to conform to project requirements.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure that project monitoring and reporting reflects the latest status of projects.
• Coordinate and compile input from team members and various project reporting to establish appropriate project plans, checkpoints and processes to meet project milestones, financial metrics, and requirements.
• Assist management in the execution of internal QMS program to ensure first time quality in project management.
