Job summary

X-energy seeks a Project Controls Engineer III (Risk Management) in Rockville, MD to provide project controls and risk analysis across cost, schedule, and technical domains. You will develop risk registers, run probabilistic models, and deliver executive summaries to leadership.

The role focuses on integrating risk insights into EAC, cost baselines, and contingency planning, with a strong emphasis on dashboards and KPIs for ongoing program visibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
• Five plus years’ engineering/project management experience.
• Experience in planning/scheduling, cost management, estimating, and change management.
• Experience using project management software applications.
• Advanced software skills with on-screen takeoff and estimating tools.
• Experience writing basis of estimate documents.
• Knowledge of construction/project disciplines and deriving quantities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide project controls and risk management support to project teams.
• Lead quantitative risk analysis including SRA, CRA, and Monte Carlo modeling.
• Develop and maintain risk registers across cost, schedule, technical, and programmatic domains.
• Analyze schedules and cost baselines with risk mitigation and contingency planning.
• Produce risk reports and executive summaries with distributions and sensitivity analyses.
• Create dashboards, KPIs, and risk metrics for leadership.
• Support risk-adjusted forecasts and EAC integration in financial reporting.
• Maintain integrated schedules with risk analysis and resource allocation.
• Monitor budgets, expenses, and variance with risk focus.
• Prepare periodic risk assessments and actionable insights.
