Job summary

WSP in Maine is seeking a Senior Project Controls Manager to join our Project Controls team. You will support planning, budgeting, cost control, and scheduling, coordinating with subcontractors and internal staff to optimize project costs.

You will develop cost baselines, implement cost-control procedures, and drive data-driven decision-making through dashboards and PMIS tools, in a hybrid work environment. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 10 years of combined field and office project controls experience on large-scale projects.
• Extensive knowledge of cost estimating methodologies, cost control techniques, and schedule management best practices.
• Experience developing dashboards and reports in Power BI and Tableau; Excel proficiency required.
• Experience with PMIS such as Primavera Unifier, e-Builder, Procore or similar.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present to stakeholders.
• Hybrid work environment with ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Project Manager to support planning, staffing, scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety, and coordination of subcontractors and internal staff.
• Develop project cost breakdown structure and baseline budget with project team members.
• Implement cost control procedures to track expenses and analyze variances.
• Collaborate with engineering and design teams to evaluate cost-saving options and optimize project costs.
• Measure project progress and use performance data to assess cost performance.
• Align cost and schedule management through integrated project controls methodologies.
• Communicate project status, cost performance, and schedule updates to stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings to track and resolve cost and schedule issues.
• Provide documents and monthly reports to clients as needed.
• Maintain financial reports for project subtasks and roll-up summaries.
• Review funding and procurement docs for conformance to budgets.
• Manage change orders and assess impact on costs and schedules.
• Participate in development of estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cost trends.
• Support PMIS system administration, maintenance, and improvement efforts.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PMI-SP, AACE CCP/CEP) are a plus.
• 10 years of combined field and office project controls experience on large-scale projects.
• Extensive knowledge of cost estimating methodologies, cost control techniques, and schedule management best practices.
• Reporting & BI Tools: Demonstrated experience developing dashboards and reports in Microsoft Power BI and/or Tableau. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• PMIS: Experience working with and/or administering Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) such as Oracle Primavera Unifier, e-Builder, Procore, or similar platforms.
• Communication: Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills with the ability to present clearly to stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Work Style: Self-starter who thrives in a hybrid work environment and can manage competing priorities with minimal supervision.
