Job summary

Aegis Companies seeks a Senior Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support and manage CPM schedules for large construction projects. You will collaborate with project managers, construction professionals, and stakeholders to develop, update, and report on critical paths and progress, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget.

Qualifications

  • Seven or more years of experience in project controls and CPM scheduling in vertical construction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or related field (waived with 5+ years vertical construction experience).
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Ability to interpret construction documents accurately.
  • Knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequences.
  • Experience developing schedules for projects over $100M.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting.
  • Familiarity with contractual clauses as they apply to planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • AACEI PSP or PMI-SP certification(s) preferred.
  • Travel to site construction locations within the region.

Responsibilities

  • Development, maintenance, and monitoring of construction CPM schedules.
  • Review project documents and specs to develop baseline schedules with required dates, activities, and milestones.
  • Perform progress schedule updates with comprehensive reporting and narratives.
  • Review schedules and provide recommendations aligned with execution goals.
  • Perform critical path analyses and suggest corrective actions.
  • Conduct site walks for progress validation and monthly reporting packages.
  • Review contractor progress and present findings to management.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting.
  • Identify and evaluate risks and impacts within schedules.
  • Communicate project status and challenges effectively to teams and stakeholders.
  • Meet with project teams, clients, owners, and stakeholders.

About the Role

We seek a Senior Project Controls Engineer to provide scheduling support services to our valued clients. This position will work with a team of professionals, including client project managers, construction professionals, and project stakeholders, to develop, manage, and monitor CPM schedules and project control systems throughout a project's life cycle.   • Review contractor’s progress and present to management for decision‑making.
  • Develop metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to support the program.

  • Identification and evaluation of risk and impacts within project schedules.
  • Communicate project status and challenges effectively.
  • Meet with project teams, clients, owners, and various stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Seven or more years of experience in project controls and CPM scheduling within the vertical construction industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, construction, project management, or a related field. This requirement may be waived with five or more years of direct, vertical construction industry experience.
  • Proficiency in Oracle Primavera P6.
  • Ability to accurately interpret construction documents.
  • Knowledge of construction means, methods, and sequences.
  • Experience developing construction project schedules for projects over $100M.
  • Cost and resource management and reporting.
  • Familiarity with contractual clauses as they apply to planning and scheduling.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • AACEI PSP or PMI‑SP certification(s) preferred.
  • This role may include travel to site construction locations within the region.
