Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. seeks a Senior Project Control Specialist (Scheduler/Planner) for a 12-month contract in Kansas City, MO, onsite. The role focuses on leading project controls, scheduling with Primavera P6, and delivering robust reporting to clients and management.

The ideal candidate has 7–10 years in project controls, experience with utility infrastructure projects, and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management. OSHA 10 certification or ability to obtain is required.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in Project Controls, Planning & Scheduling using Primavera P6.
  • Experience leading project control processes, presenting schedule status reports to client and PM team.
  • Experience with utility infrastructure projects e.g. T&D/oil & gas or similar grid infrastructure.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, cost management, estimating and document control.
  • OSHA 10-hour certification or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project controls processes and consult with the PM team to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Present schedule status reports to PM team and client. Validate proper setup and management of Primavera P6 schedules.
  • Analyze data, logs and reports in the project controls tools.
  • Validate proper WBS and accuracy of schedule management and forecast reporting.
  • Develop effective scheduling reports for projects.
  • Develop, implement and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce program controls reports.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members on project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project controls execution plans.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, customers and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement and construction planning, scheduling, logistics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team.
  • Review change orders from upstream/downstream contracts.
  • Lead the IPPM meetings and present controls reporting.
  • Validate schedule progress and run what-if scenarios.
  • Analyze progress measurement and critical path scheduling.
  • Review earned value management system reporting.
  • Review material takeoffs and perform quality checks on deliverables.
  • If in the field, perform field audits.
  • Perform Project Forensic Analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Senior Project Control Specialist (Scheduler / Planner)

12 months contract, Kansas City, MO (Onsite).

$58 to $63 hourly. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities
  • The Senior Project Controls Specialist leads project controls processes and consults with the project management team to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Presents schedule status reports to project management team and client. Validate proper set-up and management of the Primavera P6 Project Schedule(s).
  • Analyze data, logs, and reports in the suite of project controls tools.
  • Validate proper Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is utilized and accuracy of schedule management and forecast reporting.
  • Develop effective scheduling reports for projects.
  • Develop, implement, and manage the reporting data warehouse to produce valuable program controls reports and data for multiple large projects.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members ensuring the resolution of difficult project control issues.
  • Develop and implement project controls execution plans.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with existing and potential clients, customers, and contractors.
  • Responsible for engineering, procurement, and construction planning, scheduling, logistics.
  • Serve as a point of contact for technical questions from the project team.
  • Interface with the Project Management Team.
  • Review upstream (prime contract) / downstream (purchase orders & subcontract) change orders.
  • Lead the Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM), presentation of Project Controls reporting when required
  • Validate schedule progress and perform schedule what-if scenarios
  • Analyze and evaluate schedule management involving the critical path method of scheduling techniques.
  • Validate the accuracy of earned value management system reporting.
  • Analyze progress measurement and progress curves.
  • Review material takeoffs. Perform quality checks and inspections on project controls deliverables.
  • If assigned to the field, perform field audits to validate accuracy of reporting and processes.
  • Perform Project Forensic Analysis.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and complies with all policies and standards.
Key Requirements and Technology Experience
  • Key skills; Must have 7-10 years of experience in Project Control, Planning & Scheduling utilizing Primavera P6.
  • Candidate should have experience in leading project control process, present schedule status reports, team and client management.
  • Candidate should have experience in supporting utility infrastructure projects e.g. T&D/electric utility, oil & gas and or similar grid type of infrastructure experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field. and 7 years direct project controls experience.
  • Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
  • Experience with critical path scheduling, project cost management, estimating and document control required.
  • Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate and produce detailed construction schedules and interface those construction schedules with engineering and procurement activities preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, attention to detail, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office. OSHA 10-hour safety certification or ability to obtain.
