Job summary

Handel Architects in San Francisco is seeking a Project Architect with 8+ years of experience to join our design-driven team. You will shape buildings from feasibility to construction, collaborating with senior staff and clients to ensure design intent is executed across all phases.

The role emphasizes technical rigor, coordination, and mentoring while contributing to impactful, community-oriented projects in a collaborative studio culture.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional architectural experience across all project phases
• Experience with medium-to-large-scale multifamily residential projects preferred
• Professional degree in Architecture
• CA Licensed Architect preferred
• Familiarity with zoning regulations, planning codes, and building codes
• Proficiency in Revit required
• Experience with 3D modeling and rendering tools (Rhino, D5, Enscape)
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Proven experience producing coordinated and comprehensive construction documents
• Experience with Construction Administration and jobsite observations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, technically proficient, and detail-oriented
• Collaborative team player with mentoring experience
• Self-motivated and capable of managing tasks independently

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Project Architects and Project Managers
• Work closely with consultants and clients to deliver thoughtful buildings
• Shape buildings from feasibility through documentation and construction
• Ensure design intent is carried through all project phases
• Support construction administration and site observations
• Mentor and share knowledge with staff across levels
