About You

The ideal candidate for this position is a highly experienced, licensed architect with a strong background in commercial interiors, technical documentation, code compliance, consultant coordination, permitting, and construction administration. This person is confident leading drawing sets, guiding junior team members, coordinating with consultants and jurisdictions, and supporting the Project Manager in keeping projects aligned with scope, schedule, budget, and design intent.

If you’re interested in being a technical leader, trusted project resource, and key collaborator within our studio — we’d love to talk to you!

Lead the development and coordination of construction documentation for projects of varying size and complexity

Contribute and advise to achieving the architectural design vision through technical expertise, code knowledge, constructability input, and detailing

Provide strong knowledge of code compliance, including ADA, egress, fire ratings, construction types, and applicable California building codes

Coordinate with consultants, general contractors, vendors, and jurisdictions throughout design, documentation, permitting, and construction administration

Lead or support the construction administration process, including RFIs, submittals, site observations, and coordination with the project team

Act as a technical resource for project-related requirements, documentation standards, construction detailing, and quality control

Organize, manage, and oversee drawing sets, Revit files, backgrounds, issued documents, specifications, and project archives

Delegate tasks to job captains, designers, and junior team members while providing guidance, feedback, and mentorship

Communicate progress, schedule concerns, technical issues, and coordination needs clearly with the Project Manager and internal team

Attend internal and external meetings and serve as a reliable backup to the Project Manager when needed

Maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, city officials, and clients through responsive and thoughtful communication

Support AP+I’s commitment to high-quality architectural design, technical rigor, and collaborative project delivery

Preferred Qualifications:
