Job summary

EXP in Atlanta seeks a Senior Project Architect for Mission Critical and Commercial Building projects. You will lead design teams, oversee documentation, and coordinate with clients and engineers to advance projects from concept through construction.

The role requires strong architecture credentials, licensure path, and proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit. You will manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, balancing client and PM expectations while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Architecture required.
• Detailed knowledge of architectural practice with emphasis client interaction, design development, preparation of construction documents.
• Working knowledge of specification preparation, building materials, coordination with construction costs, and building codes.
• Experience in construction administration.
• Ability to successfully balance client and PM expectations while meeting project deadlines.
• Ability to work in a team & lead a team of designers across multiple disciplines.
• Licensed Architect or working toward licensure through NCARB’s AXP program.
• Must be proficient with AutoCAD.
• Mission Critical or Data Center projects preferred but not required.
• Proficiency in Revit preferred with a working knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketchup.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee design and technical team from Conceptual Design through Construction Documents and Construction Phase; primary client contact.
• Develop project schedules with Program Manager and Project Manager.
• Coordinate with in-house and outside subconsultants on multiple projects.
• Develop presentation documents and present to clients.
• Travel to client sites in the Midwest for surveys or meetings.
• Ensure designs meet building codes and ADA requirements.
• Oversee bid and construction phase activities in office and field.
• Act as a technical resource for project teams.

A Senior Project Architect represents EXP’s interests through effective project leadership and actions that advance the Firm’s mission and business interests. This position will be located in the Atlanta office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• A Project Leader represents EXP’s interests through effective project leadership and actions that advance the Firm’s mission. The Project Leader speaks for the Firm and conducts him/herself in a manner commensurate with a position of leadership within the Firm. Your responsibilities include:
• Responsible for oversight and coordination of design and technical team from Conceptual Design through Construction Documents and Construction Phase. Primary Client Point of Contact.
• Work with Program Manager and Project Manager to stablish project schedules.
• Oversight includes in-house team as well as outside subconsultants on multiple projects simultaneously. Oversight of technical coordination with all disciplines, ensuring the project is detailed and executed to maintain the design concept with technical astuteness.
• Develop presentation documents and participate in presentations to clients.
• Travel to client sites in the Midwest for surveys or client meetings.
• Ensure that designs meet applicable building code and ADA requirements.
• Oversee corresponding bid and construction phase activities in the office and in the field.
• Act as a technical resource for project teams.
