Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a Lead Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of construction project costing, including categorizing, recording, analyzing, and monitoring costs and billings for large projects. You will supervise a team of project accountants and work with Project Managers to ensure timely, accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or Construction Management.
• Excellent organization skills with high attention to detail.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; technical aptitude.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to coach and transfer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all phases of the construction job costing process.
• Lead a team of project accountants supporting multiple projects.
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout project life cycle.
• Monitor and analyze financial data; prepare standard and special reports.
• Coach and train junior staff; implement policy changes as needed.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to control costs and risks.
