Job summary

UNICEF in New York is seeking a senior communications consultant to support the Gender Equality Action Plan 2026–2029 by strengthening programme communications, advocacy and partnerships. The consultant will develop communication and advocacy materials, support partner engagement and resource mobilisation, and promote adolescent girls’ leadership, voices and rights across UNICEF and with external partners.

This assignment requires a Master’s degree in Communications or related field, at least 8

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in communication, advocacy, print, broadcast and/or new media.
• Fluency in English, written and spoken.
• Knowledge of another official UN language is an asset.
• Excellent writing skills on gender-related issues and knowledge products.
• Ability to work independently in an international, multicultural team.
• Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office; SharePoint/Teamsite management.
• Ability to communicate sensitively to different audiences and meet deadlines.
